Careful Packing Ensures Zero Damage to Valuables

If you are one of the millions of people moving this year, you know how stressful and complicated this time is for everyone in your family. You want to make sure that everything arrives in one piece. If proper packing is observed, expect your belongings to arrive safely in your new home.
Firstly, make sure you have sufficient packing supplies. Purchase bubble wrap for breakable objects, crumpled papers, packing tape, scissors, markers and several sturdy boxes.
Whether you have hired a moving company or performing a move on your own, you may still opt to pack your belongings yourself. The following tips should help in ensuring the safety of all your valuables
·
Separately wrap each item, especially the breakable ones with a bubble wrap to provide extra support and protection.
·
Heavy items should be placed inside small boxes so you can easily carry them.
·
Make sure the box is dense enough before securing it with packing tape.
·
Fill the gaps with crumpled newsprint to prevent shifting.
·
Group similar items together and pack them according to the room they belong to. Don't forget to label the box with the appropriate room.
·
  Don't pack flammable items.
·
Do not overload each box; its weight should not go over fifty pounds.
·
Drain liquids from containers so they don't leak.
·
Cushion and cover breakables with linens and moving blankets. Mark as ‘Fragile'.
·
Keep a listing of all the items in the boxes.
